Hello-
It is time for my sister to get her first laptop. I have had the Gateway MT6458 for 2 years (I bought it at a Memorial Day sale at Best Buy). Even though I do not need it, I would like to upgrade to the new MacBook Pro 13-inch. If I do that, my mom thinks that I should give my current laptop (MT6458) to my sister for 0. I do not think this is enough…
The laptop has no scratches and works fine. It also has Microsoft Office 2007 and Spyware installed on it (the Spyware will be expiring in May of 2010). Those two things combined make at least a 0 value right there (Microsoft Office=0)
The MacBook Pro will cost me a total of 85 about.
How much money do you guys feel is the appropriate amount to place this used laptop (MT6458) at?

PS: The laptop is running on Windows Vista.
PS: Selling the MT6458 on ebay or anywhere else is not an option.. my mom will not allow this..

Dude! It is your sister! You would not get anymore than that if you sold it on Craig’s list. The value of a 2 year old laptop is low! $300 is fair.
1GB, 1.6GHz, I wouldnt sell it for any more than 250. 250 at the MOST to a complete stranger. Even then, I personally wouldnt buy it at that price. If I were you, I wouldnt try to make money from my own sister. I’d sell it to her for flat $200.
