Does it make sense to use a powerline ethernet desktop to use between my laptop and home wireless?

I don’t have wireless internet on my laptop. It is a 2000 Del. I want to be able to connect to the internet where ever in my home so I bought a powerline at a garage sale for cheap. Does it make sense to use for this purpose? I have ZER0 experience with computers.

    You need a matching pair of these. One needs to connect to your router, the other to the computer. It will not work if it is on different electrical phases.
