Used or New... that's the big question. That RIG needs more RAM because it has Windows Vista. I would get 2GB or more.

But here's the thing. You can get NEW and the manufacturer's warranty for a little more. In fact, here is an A135 with MORE already from NewEgg.com

TOSHIBA Satellite A135-S4487 NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo T5500(1.66GHz) 15.4" Wide XGA 2GB DDR2 533 220GB DVD Super Multi Intel GMA950 - $899.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834114309

So if you DO decide to buy the used one, get as much RAM as you can. Use the free SCAN TOOL at Crucial.com

Good luck and Happy Computing!

I wouldn't touch second hand laptops with a bargepole, It has Vista basic so you'll be pretty limited, Have a look at the Acer Aspire 5315 I am using that now and its a great machine. I got it new in the UK from play.com (£349) it has a built in webcam and Vista Premium. And if you buy new you will get a warranty and peace of mind.

The ram on this Toshiba is rubbish and you will be struggling to do more than one thing at a time.

This unit doesn't have enough ram or hard drive and you will most likely have to upgrade it depending on what you will be using it for.Toshiba does make good computers though.

It's not bad, and Toshiba is generally a really good brand, but it is slightly low on RAM if you ask me. You can always add more, but that could be a hassle, especially if you're not familiar with it. It also depends on what you want to use it for, if you're into gaming, then you might want a more powerful one, but if you just need it to check the internet and type a document once in a while, then it's pretty good. So, just think abut what you need it for, and if you feel that it's the right decision, then get it. If you do decide to buy, ask him about a guarantee in case you're not satisfied within, say, 30 days or something like that. It's always good to know that you can return it if you need to. Good Luck!
